Confession: I Had to Check Myself

So I’m gonna keep it real with yall. Sometimes I find myself choosing my words carefully, trying to be politically correct, and playing it safe. However, I want this blog to represent me and I want to give you me and all my authenticity (as terrifying as that is). That being said, when Chrissy’s Knee High Socks reached out to me to collaborate, I was beyond flattered that they noticed little ol’ me. At the same time, I was being a little bougie (it’s in the Urban Dictionary) and closed-minded, so I started making excuses and talking myself out of it, saying, “I don’t have time, I don’t wear socks, It won’t flow with my content, blah, blah, blah.” I mean, a whole laundry list of excuses, right? So I ignored the email. Rude. Yep, that was me. ?

A couple of days later, I happened to look at my 2016 Vision Board. One of the items in the center of my board says “Seek God” and I was reminded why I added it to my board. I wanted to remind myself to seek God in ALL things. We all remember to go to God for the big decisions, but not so much for the “small things.” I wanted to be better about seeking His guidance in those areas as well. Those seemingly small things can have a greater impact on our lives than we realize.

Then a few days later, I was having dinner with my girl, Jen from PipesnButtons, in L.A. and somehow the collaboration came up. I was telling her my feelings about it and she just put it all in perspective for me. I began to think about how I pray for God to open doors and then when he does, I question it or I make excuses. It’s like a slap in the face. Then I’m having a talk with myself, like “Girl, don’t get the big head with your little hand full of subscribers and stuff. If you can’t even handle it at this level, why would He open more doors?” Jen had no idea what she did for me that night. It had zero to do with Chrissy’s and everything to do with me and my (temporary) jacked up mindset. As soon as I was back in Georgia, I researched Chrissy’s and emailed to let them know that I would love to collaborate.

First, I love the fact that Chrissy saw a need for something and made it happen. She could not find knee socks on store shelves. Prime example of “Find a way or make one.” Second, I love that they are dedicated to supporting the community by partnering with mom-and-pop shops and other organizations. And lastly, let’s talk about the socks themselves! Now, I’ve never really been into socks all like that, but these have officially converted me. Oh my goodness, they are soooooo soft and they are the perfect thickness. Not to mention the unique and funky designs they offer. It took everything in me not to choose all the pink ones.

I was especially sold on the fact that they offer Breast Cancer Awareness socks!! These are hands-down my absolute favorites. They are extra soft and comfy. I wore them all day and they didn’t roll down. They didn’t fray or get loose after washing them. There are several other BCA styles to choose from and they are all perfect.

And the most important factor for me: they are very reasonably priced! Yall know I’m cheap. These are at a price point that works great for me.

They also have thigh high socks. These are awesome too! Even though they come up the thigh, they stayed in place and weren’t too tight. Lots of cool colors and prints in these as well.

I definitely recommend Chrissy’s socks. There is something for everybody. If you follow me on IG, you know I’m crazy for color. If you are not colorful like me and would like these in solid colors, they have those available too. I’m sure the quality is just as good on those. I’m thinking I need to get navy and black for skirts and dresses in the winter. You’ll be seeing some of them styled in upcoming posts.

A HUGE thank you to Chrissy’s!! You have no idea how you have helped me (in addition to the fabulous socks)! You now have a loyal customer in me! All the Christmas gifts, sporting events, Crazy Socks Day at school/work, and costumes…

Even though Chrissy’s was gracious enough to send me these cool socks, all opinions are my own.

Girl!!! I’m so glad you decided to collab with Chrissy’s. It’s an awesome company and the socks are very well made. Don’t put God in the corner. He is gracious to give to all who ask and seek earnestly. Those socks are SO you and they totally flow with your colorful style so I don’t even know why you would doubt yourself. I can’t wait to see how you styled the other ones!!

OMG! I love socks! I have got to have those thigh-high socks. I must have them in purple, black/white, or green? Can I get them aloe infused? Oooo, aloe…
