Oh man. You’re enjoying your weekend and then at about 4pm on Sunday, you remember that you have work tomorrow. That feeling of dread goes through your body. Your whole mood changes as you think about starting yet another week at a job that you do not want to be at.
Here are some tips to help you deal with those feelings a little better:
- Remind yourself that as an adult, you get to do whatever in the world you want to do. And that includes going to work or NOT going to work. You don’t HAVE to go to work. There are tons of people who choose not to have a job to go to every day. You choose to go to work because you WANT to. You want to provide for yourself and your family. Because you love them.
- Trust your process. You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be right now. If you’re feeling the nudge to do something different/more, you can make moves while still believing that there is a reason why you’re at your current job. There could be a relationship or skill that will benefit you in your future work.
- Try to focus on today. Truly, right now is all we have. Yesterday and Tomorrow only exist in our minds. Love on yourself, your family, and your friends.
Hopefully, these simple shifts in perspective will help you view your Sunday evenings differently, creating the space for you to focus instead on the things in life that are important to you – not wasting precious time dreading tomorrow.
