How to Feel Certain in Uncertain Times

We are living in uncertain times right now with COVID-19 changing our lives from the way that we’ve known it.

We are uncertain about how long it will last.

We are uncertain about whether we or our loved ones will get sick.

We are uncertain about our jobs.

We are uncertain about whether we’ll get to go on Summer vacation.

We are uncertain whether planned events (graduations, concerts, weddings, etc.) will happen.

We are uncertain about a lot of things.

However, there are also a lot of things that we can be certain about.

We are certain that we’ll do our best not to get sick.

We are certain that we have food.

We are certain that we have shelter.

We are certain that we’ll still love our loved ones after this.

We are certain that although life is changing, it might take some time, but we will adjust.

We are certain that we have today.

So the best way to feel certain during uncertain times is to focus on the things that we ARE certain about.

NEWS FLASH!! We’ve been doing this anyway. Think about it. Our jobs have never been certain. Our health has never been certain. Graduations, concerts, weddings, and vacations have never been certain. Life has never been certain. We just choose to focus on the certainties and show up accordingly.

Keep doing that.
