How to Make the Right Decision

It takes us forever to make decisions.

Even with the simple stuff, like where to go for date night or what to cook for dinner.

So naturally, the big decisions, like whether your kids will go back to traditional school or continue with digital learning, will take a month or two or twelve.

The problem with not deciding is that it takes up energy in your brain. We only have a certain amount of brain energy and when you are stewing over a decision, that energy is being sucked up. This leaves you with less to be creative or make other decisions with.

This is when you’re like, “I can’t even think about that right now” and go take a nap or eat ice cream instead. Your brain has no more energy to work with because it’s all tied up in decisions that need to be made, consciously or subconsciously.

So let me help you out. There is no right or wrong decision. There is only YOUR decision.

What makes it right or wrong is whether or not you have your own back regardless of the outcome. For example, if you decide that your kids will go back to traditional school and they end up getting coronavirus, you don’t beat yourself up for it. You believe that you made the best decision at the time that you made it and that you and your family will ultimately be ok.

Use these simple steps to make a decision and free yourself:

  1. Make a choice…right now.
  2. DECIDE right now that this is the RIGHT decision.
  3. Have your own back. No matter what happens, believe that this was the best decision given the information you had at that time.
  4. Go live your best life.
