You might wonder why my blog is named Pink and Gabulous. If you read my About Me post (or put two and two together), you know that my name is Gabrielle and I like all things fabulous. 🙂 Hence, Gabulous. But the “Pink” part of the name might not be as apparent. Maybe you guessed that pink is my favorite color. You would be right, however, pink is so much more than just a favorite color for me.
Pink makes me happy for many reasons. It represents all things bright and pretty and feminine. It is so soft, yet it demands attention. It just makes everything better. Pink is also a representation of my Granny, who died from breast cancer on my birthday in 2006. She was always a fiercely dressed and well put together woman. And she made it look so effortless, from her big stylish hats to her big bold prints to her fancy pumps! Not to mention the jewelry with which that lady would use to accessorize! Down to her last days as she sat in a wheelchair, paralyzed on one side, she was wanting somebody to do her hair. LOL! As a child (and even as an adult), I was obsessed with everything about her style. My Granny was definitely my fashion inspiration, but most importantly, she gave me my spiritual foundation, teaching me about God at a very young age. Even though I was too young and dumb to realize it then and complained as she dragged me to every church service going on in our small town of Dublin, Georgia, she showed me that as long as I had Him, I had everything. So now you know why pink is very near and dear to my heart, and why I will represent everything about Pink and Gabulous to the fullest.
This outfit was the result of a style challenge I participated in for Monochrome Miss. It took me 30 seconds to put it together. And most of that time was debating on whether I would wear the pink shoes too! I joked with my Instagram followers that I didn’t think they were ready for the pink shoes. Hehe.
