The REAL Reason You Haven’t Left Your Job

You’ve always wanted to figure out what you’re meant to do so that you can throw yourself into it, stop doing work that you are not happy doing, and start living the fulfilling life that you’ve always wanted.

So now you’ve uncovered your purpose and you are beyond excited. You have crystal clarity on who you are and how you’re meant to use your gifts and talents in the world. You feel like a whole new world has opened up for you.

But now you’re faced with wanting to leave your job to do this.

And you’re terrified.

You think about your bills and the consistent paycheck that you get from your job and how that will no longer be if you leave.

You feel anxious just thinking about it because you go into survival mode, imagining worst case scenario that you’ll end up on the street with no food.

You think about the medical insurance that your job provides and worry that someone will get sick and won’t have insurance to get the help they need.

Your job provides all of this safety and security and if you leave, you won’t have that. That’s why you haven’t left.

Except that the job never provided the safety and security in the first place.

The safety and security comes from you knowing that YOU can make money to take care of yourself and your family.

You get to believe that with or without the job.

With the job, you choose to believe that you will be able to take care of yourself and your family with the consistent paycheck (which is not always guaranteed as we saw with the pandemic but we choose to believe it anyway).

Without the job, you still get to believe that you will be able to make money to take care of yourself and your family no matter what.

You believe in your ability to figure it out, just like you always have.

Really think about it. You’ve ALWAYS figured it out.

So when it comes to doing what you’re called to do, know that God has given you everything you need to do it.

Trust Him and trust yourself.

THAT is your safety and security…not your job.
