Today is a very special day. It’s my late Granny’s birthday!! She would have been 81 years old. Not only is she a great part of my blog (check out this previous post), but she was a great example of the woman I aspire to be each and every day. Not only was she an exceptionally fashionable woman, but she was also a smart business woman who made things happen.
When we became boy-crazy teenagers, I remember her telling my cousins and me, “Leave them boys alone and get your lesson!” She would drill that in our heads so much that I can honestly hear her chanting it. Of course I didn’t get it then, but I eventually understood and respected it. She really wanted us to focus on our education and on making something of ourselves more than we focused on boys and so-called relationships. And I am so thankful for it. I will be chanting that to my daughter too in a few years. She will hate me for it short-term, but she will love me for it later. Ha!
Granny went hard her family, supported the community, and loved people. Most importantly, she was a woman of faith. She loved God and served Him with all of her heart, mind, and soul. She was the ultimate Proverbs 31 woman.
Speaking of Proverbs 31, this is one of my favorite casual looks. White v-neck tee with sneakers. This is another tee from Kasidy’s Kloset. This one may be my new favorite. I think I say that about all of her tees but they really are good tees and a great way to make a statement. Check out the other tees here and here.
