The Worst Advice I Ever Got

“Go to college and get a good job.”

That’s all I remember hearing in high school and college.

So that’s what I did. Got a degree and a good job.

Now what?

I looked everywhere for the answer. Couldn’t find it. Figured I must have done it wrong, so I did it again.

I went BACK to school. Got another degree and another good job.

Now what?

I still felt empty, like something was missing. I was unfulfilled.

It was the most miserable and depressing feeling I’d ever experienced. And I couldn’t shake it.

With the help of a coach, I was able to dig deep and be honest with myself about what I truly wanted.

Not only did I figure out what I wanted, but I was determined to get it.

Now please hear me when I say that I don’t regret going to college or anything I’ve done. Those were some of the best years of my life! I wouldn’t trade it for the world. However, I do know that many others have taken this path and are still unfulfilled, but they don’t understand why.

It’s because fulfillment does not come from a degree or a job or anything else outside of you. It comes from knowing who you are and the value that you offer the world.

It took me a long time to get there, but I can help you get there quicker. Let’s go.

Same advice was given to me too on top of “at all cost even if you have to take out student loans bc going to college will get you a good job”. Will not be teaching this to my kids!
